Saw And Krennic’s Return For Andor Disney+ Show

According to two separate sources,  both Saw and Krennic’s return for Andor has been confirmed/rumored respectively. In the case of Saw Gererra this is not a rumor. Actor Stellan Skarsgard recently chatted with Swedish radio station Sverigesradio and though translation is iffy, he mentioned doing a scene with Forrest Whittaker. Whittaker of course played the live-action version of Saw in Rogue One, where he also lost his life. Skarsgard does not give much away, (that we can tell) but does comment on a juicy seen with Whittaker in the show.

Honestly this is not exactly unexpected given that Andor will serve as a prequel to Rogue One. I’m betting we see Saw whilst he and the other Rebels are still working together. However, far more interesting is the rumor. The Direct are reporting that Director Krennic himself, Ben Mendelsohn will also make his Star Wars return in Andor. This one has me excited because frankly Krennic was the best Senior Imperial on screen since Captain Needa. I had always hoped, yet doubted that we would see Mendelsohn back as Krennic and if this report proves legit I am a happy bunny.

In fact, I’d probably prefer an Orson Krennic show than a Cassian Andor show at this point. However, perhaps I am being unfair? Andor could be great and perhaps I will warm more to Cassian as we see how he got into the Rebellion in the first place? All I know is that Rogue One‘s best actor, and character was far and away Mendelsohn/Krennic. As with all rumors though, take this one with a dose of sodium until we get a second source backing this up.

I think the reason no one expected Mendelsohn was because there has been no rumor of him anywhere near any of the filming locations. However, that could simply be a case of Luacsfilm trying to keep his inclusion a secret for now. If that is the case, oh well, the cat is out the bag?

Are you happy to see Saw and Krennic’s return for Andor? As always, leave any thoughts you have below. Andor should be due to hit sometime in Spring/Summer 2022…we think!
