After a long hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 37th Santa Barbara Film Festival is underway physically for in-person attendance.
The honorees at the prestigious film festival include Kristen Stewart, Caitriona Balfe, Ariana DeBose, Alana Haim, Emilia Jones, Troy Kotsur, Simon Rex, Saniyya Sidney, Will Smith, Aujanue Ellis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, and many more.
The festival takes place in various locations in Santa Barbara from March 2 through March 12.
The festival’s opening night honored many of the festival filmmakers, judges, and executives. The night also marked the United States premiere of The Phantom of the Open, which stars Mark Rylance and Ian Porter, about a complete novice gaining entry into the 1976 British Open Golf Championship qualifier.

Some of the filmmakers in attendance included Isaac Hernandez de Lipa, Nancy Black, Leslie Zemeckis, Gerrison Machado, Benjamin David Hoffman, Darby Gaelle Hannon, Yuyao Zhuo, Ily Logeais, Aidan Mastrogiogio, Dag Forsberg, Sharon Green, Gareth Kelly, and many more.
