Back in 2018, comics-adaptation Accident Man starring Scott Adkins surprisingly became an action cult hit with the blend of fun, action, and characters.
That film also starred Ashley Greene, Ray Stevenson, Michael Jai White, and Ray Park in this no-holds bar violent film that marked director Jesse V. Johnson and Adkins’ best work.
Accident Man follows a hitman who makes it look like his targets died of accidents or suicide. After his love is murdered, he seeks out revenge on those who are responsible.
The enjoyable part of this film was its action sequences that featured some of the best fight choreography along with non-apologetic blood and guts spilled from violent acts. It’s no wonder why it became a cult-like film with its fans clamoring for more from Scott Adkins.
During our exclusive interview with Adkins this week for Ip Man 4, he confirmed a sequel for Accident Man is in the works with our favorite hitman, Mike Fallon. He also revealed to us the film starts production next month.
That’s excellent news for the fans and Adkins. A couple of years ago, with LRM Online, Adkins told us that Accident Man was his pet project and had tremendous love for the character and comic.
He didn’t elaborate on the sequel details, but it is expected to be another fun film in this Scott Adkins genre.
Adkins is best known for his tough-guy persona across multiple genres that features action. He had appeared in Doctor Strange as Lucian, The Expendables 2 as Hector, and the lead in Bokya: Undisputed. He is currently one of the most sought after martial artists in cinema today.
