Scream Trailer | Ghostface Is Back In A Familiar Scene Paying Homage To The Original

Scream

Do you like scary movies? Oh boy you know we do. It’s been twenty-five years since that phrase gained a little more meaning in the horror film genre. In 1996 we were introduced to Wes Craven’s slasher film, Scream. With several sequels and a television series completed, Paramount Pictures is ready to release the fifth film of the franchise titled, Scream. Today was they treated us with the release of the first trailer for the film which you can check out down below!

Scream is bringing back Ghostface with a vengeance! One of the first things everyone should notice is the opening of the trailer. It pays homage to the opening scene for the original film that featured Drew Berrymore’s short-lived feature in the film. One of the new twists of course it that there is the added ability of Ghostface to interact with his victim’s house.

It will feature a mix of returning cast members and new ones. Fans of the franchise will recognize Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, Corteney Cox’s Gale Weathers, and David Arquette’s Deputy Dewey Riley. Alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

Scream is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett. Based on the characters that were created by Kevin Williamson. He is also serving as executive producer. Alongside Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena.

Here is the synopsis for Scream:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

It is interesting that in this next installment of Scream, this current Ghostface is interested in killing all of those that were related to the original cast. I am once again excited to see another horror icon back on the big screen.

Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group’s Scream will be released only in theaters on January 14th, 2022.
