SDCC 2021: First Look Clip from The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2

The Walking Dead: World Beyond

With The Walking Dead winding down with its final season, its offspring The Walking Dead: World Beyond is about to end in a fashionable way.

With its second and supposedly final season around the corner, the teen-focused version of the horror zombie series has taken them across the countryside navigating horrific zombies along the way.

The young adult series promised more discovery and hopes to fill in the “story gaps or story knowledge that the audience doesn’t have,” according to The Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple.

In the virtual panel Comic-Con@Home for San Diego Comic-Con International, Gimple said that The Walking Dead: World Beyond takes place after the new season of Fear the Walking Dead, but before the current season of The Walking Dead. Nonetheless, there’ll still be plenty of questions to answer as The Walking Dead takes place far into the future in terms of the timeline.

Gimple joined the virtual panel that included the showrunner Matt Negrete, along with cast members Alexa Mansour, Aliyah Royale, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Nico Tortorella, Annet Mahendru, Julia Ormond, Joe Holt, and Jelani Alladin. Chris Hardwick moderated the panel.

Also, it was announced that season two regulars will include Jelani Alladin, Natalie Gold, Joe Holt, and Ted Sutherland.

With the anticipated season two series, AMC released the first look clip of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Interestingly, the clip has the journey almost to its end with the discovery that the location with the father has been overrun and hopes that he is still safe.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond returns on October 3 at 10 p.m. ET/9c on AMC with new episodes premiering early on its AMC+ all season. Season one of the series is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
