Sebastian Stan On Luke Skywalker Fan Casting

Finally we have some comments from Sebastian Stan on Luke Skywalker fan casting. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few years, Marvel and Star Wars fans happen to think Sebastian Stan who plays Bucky in the MCU, would be a great casting choice for a younger Luke Skywalker. There are of course many fans who disagree, always will be. There are also some fans who never want Luke to be recast ever. I can kinda understand their thinking, but that could also mean no more Luke?

If it was not for the fact that I think Hamill is done now, I may be reluctant myself. However I feel like what got Luke from where he was in the finale of The Mandalorian Season 2, to where he was at the end of The Force Awakens, is a story that’s still to be told. There are a coupe different was Lucasfilm could pull off a Luke project though. On The Cantina Kyle and I have discussed these options many times before. You can either go down an animation route, in which case no need to recast Hamill, or you go live-action and then you have to recast.

Mark Hamill has always said he is absolutely fine with Disney recasting Luke. Hamill has even given his blessing to the Sebastian Stan fan casting. However, as far as Stan is concerned, Hamill would need to call him directly and tell him it was cool. Stan recently appeared on GMA to promote The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Here is what Stan said when asked about Luke Skywalker.

I would love to see a Disney+ show about Luke trying to rebuild the Jedi Order post Mando Season 2. Maybe even Grogu could be in it, and if Lucasfilm can’t quiet recast yet, then I would take animation. However, my preference, has to be live-action at this point.

What do you think of the comments from Sebastian Stan on Luke Skywalker? As always, leave any thoughts below.
