Shang-Chi 2 And Ten Rings Show As Destin Daniel Cretton Signs Deal With Marvel

As reported by Deadline Destin Daniel Cretton has signed an overall deal with Marvel Studios. That means Shang-Chi 2 and a Ten Rings show (maybe) are coming. Daniel Cretton has has entered into an exclusive multi-year overall deal with Disney’s Marvel Studios and Hulu’s Onyx Collective. The filmmaker is already in development with Marvel Studios on a new MCU series for Disney+. That show has long been rumored to focus on the Ten Rings organization as currently led by Xialing, Shang-Chi’s sister. However that is not yet official in any capacity. Shang-Chi 2 is though.

As reported by the trade:

At the same time, Disney has made it official that Cretton is returning to write and direct the previously rumored sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Under the big new overall deal, Cretton will develop TV projects for both Marvel Studios for Disney+ and Onyx Collective across all platforms, including Hulu. Maui-born Cretton will produce through a new production company he is launching with partner Asher Goldstein, named Family Owned. Together they will focus on building a slate of projects in film and TV that highlight the experiences of communities that have traditionally been overlooked by pop culture.

“Destin is an amazing collaborator who brought a unique perspective and skill to Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. We had a fantastic time working together on the film and he has so many intriguing ideas for stories to bring to life on Disney+. We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with him and can’t wait to get started,” said Kevin Feige.

Personally Shang-Chi has been my favorite Marvel movie since Far From Home. To be fair that only means better than Black Widow and Eternals, but I really enjoyed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. I’ll definitely be happy to go see Shang-Chi 2. Will we get Shang-Chi 2 and Ten Rings show? That remains to be seen, but Destin Daniel Cretton is working on a Marvel Disney+ series, so you decide if those early rumors were right or not?

Are you excited to get Shang-Chi 2 and a Disney+ series confirmed from Destin Daniel Cretton? Sound off below as always.
