Shang-Chi Rumored Plot Might Be Fake But It Sounds Fun – Potential SPOILERS!

Whenever the internet provided supposed plot leaks for upcoming movies we have to tread carefully. The vast majority of these leaks are nothing more than average fan-fiction. Saying that, sometimes they are also on the money. The problem is we probably won’t know which is which until a movie releases. Cue this weekend’s supposed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings plot leak on 4Chan.

Content from this site is extremely anonymous, meaning we do occasionally get the goods. We, unfortunately, mostly get a load of old rubbish. Which of the categories this Shang-Chi plot falls into is not a call I’m prepared to make. I will cover it though, because after talking it over with my Son, we both thought this sounded like a great idea for the movie. That in no way means we are claiming this plot is genuine, so bear that in mind. However, I also have to give a SPOILER warning here just in case this ends up being on the nose. So,

**Warning, Potential Plot SPOILERS for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.**

Below are the details posted online for the supposed plot of Shang-Chi.

Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), the Master of Kung-Fu, is the estranged son of The Mandarin (Tony Leung), leader of the terrorist organization known as “The Ten Rings”.

Shang-Chi once worked for the MI-6 – the UK’s secret intelligence service – against the Ten Rings, but has since abandoned that world, until a deadly conspiracy draws him back into a dangerous battle.

Clive Reston is a seasoned veteran and Shang-Chi’s old partner and friend, who is now married to Leiko Wu, an elite operative who once had strong feelings for Shang-Chi.

Takeshi Matsuya is a young computer hacker who becomes Shang-Chi’s associate after he leaves the MI-6.

Reston recruits Shang-Chi to infiltrate an underground martial arts tournament organized by The Mandarin and learn what he is planning, forcing Shang-Chi to work alongside Leiko and Black Jack Tarr, an elite martial artist who enjoys the thrill of the battle.

Shang-Chi’s opponents include his siblings, Cursed Lotus (Awkwafina) and Moving Shadow, and The Mandarin’s enforcers Steel Claw, Midnight Sun, Razorfist and Ghostmaker.

The Mandarin has his rings of power, and his masterplan is to awaken the legendary dragon Fin Fang Foom to help him conquer the world.

I just have to be honest and say I love the idea of a fighting tournament. It feels very much like Enter the Dragon. If Marvel is trying to make a Kung-Fu movie, then what better movie to emulate than Bruce Lee’s finest? My son said that it sounds a little like Mortal Kombat as well, a game series he loves to play. I can see the similarities.

This could be so far out of the park that it’s not even close. However, if it is, then I think it could be a really interesting and fun movie. I like the ideas presented in the plot summary described above. Well done to the person who dreamed this one up, if it is really just some fan-fiction. Can I hope that the final movie is closer to this than not?

What do you think of this plot? Forget whether it is real or not, do you think this would be a good basis for a Shang-Chi movie? Leave your thoughts below as always.
