2017 brought us The Last Jedi, and now news comes that 2018 will bring us the last installment into the popular TV – movie franchise, Sharknado. It is the end of an era folks. The final film will be the sixth entry in the series. With their heavy layer of cheese, the films found a way into the hearts of viewers and proved popular enough to stick around for six films.

While this series has too much camp in it for me, I can understand why some folks enjoy it. I do enjoy guilty pleasures from time to time, though, mine are more in line with films like Tommy Wiseau’s The Room and Troll 2.
The franchise hit its peak with the second film in the series, Sharknado 2: The Second One, bringing in nearly 4 million viewers. The number of viewers dropped to just under 2 million for last year’s Sharknado 5: Global Swarming
The last film left actor Ian Ziering’s Finn on a severely ravaged earth, and the final film will send the character back in time to try and save the planet by stopping the first ever Sharknado from happening. Tara Reid and Vivica A. Fox will both return for the franchises last adventure. Director of all five previous Sharknado films, Anthony Ferrante, will return to direct the closing chapter.
