While it will still be quite some time before any of us get to see the film Shazam! Fury of the Gods is planned. The highly-anticipated sequel to DC’s breath of fresh air showed that there was more to DC than grit and darkness. Zachary Levi nailed the role of the titular character and what fans received was sort of a mash-up between Big and a superhero film. Which is perfectly fine by me as well as many other fans.
Actor Mark Strong who played the villain of the piece in Dr. Sivana recently spoke with Collider and talked about filming the first Shazam! as well as talking about his potential involvement in the upcoming sequel. You can see what he had to say below.
“I had such a great time on the first one and it turned out to be such a success. I’m just waiting to hear. I think the script is in development and they’re trying to get ready to do it. Obviously, it’s been interrupted by this pandemic, so things are on hold until such time as it can be filmed safely. At the moment, it’s all under wraps. I honestly know very little about it. It’s not that I don’t want to tell you anything about it. It’s just that I don’t actually know very much about it.”

Not much is know about Shazam! Fury of the Gods as you read above it doesn’t seem, at least at the moment, that Strong is confirmed to appear. However, with the way the first film ended, Dr. Sivana has not lost his desire for power. Even though he is in prison it appears he met someone that may be able to assist him. So it’s likely Strong will reprise his role as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. There’s still plenty of time before the film’s summer 2023 release, so at this point, there’s no reason to be alarmed with Strong having no official involvement with the film.
