Shazam Is Basically 15 Years Old In New TV Spot

https://youtu.be/GrksNJbg_ec

Shazam flies into theaters on April 5th and that’s not too long away now at all, before that we have another superhero film to worry about, Captain Marvel. Soon after Shazam we have Avengers: Endgame and it won’t be the first time we have said we worry about it being sandwiched between two big Marvel movies.

Never the less, I have heard of many fans saying they love the look of Shazam from the trailers and TV spots so far, if that is you, then hopefully you enjoyed this latest TV spot above. The trailer gives a few new shots and scenes from the movie which we hadn’t seen in the previous trailers, but not much to be fair. I really liked the shot of Billy jumping off a building and shouting Shazam in mid-air, which looked cool.

It’s hard to gauge whether Shazam will find an audience, not everyone can afford the time or money to see every big movie of the summer and as such, I can’t say for certain whether I will see Shazam at theaters. I know I am definitely watching both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame and I’ll be taking my son with me as I always do. I am not sure what interest he has in Shazam though, if he’s up for it, I’ll go, but if not I would happily wait for home viewing. That’s probably not what DC and WB want to hear, and perhaps that’s the big problem they face?

To be fair the movie currently looks like a fairly light-hearted good old fashioned family movie, though who knows what the movie will feel like in its entirety until we get some reviews dropping. This latest TV spot as I said has some good shots, but I also kind of feel like the plot is written on the walls as it were, and I don’t think it will be a very surprising or even interesting film. However, if it works and it’s a fun ride, who cares right? But that remains to be seen.
