Shazam: Star Zachary Levi Shares Sexy, Comic Book-Accurate Jet-Black Hair

For months now, Shazam! director David F. Sandberg has teased a fun, comic book-accurate interpretation of the character for the big screen. While the DC Extended Universe has had its strengths, some have been more than a little unhappy with the dark, morbid nature of the first couple films as well as the liberties taken with characters Batman and Superman.

Given the darker tone those movies had, would there be room for a goofy one like Shazam!? Turns out that’s a huge yes (as Justice League proved, they’re definitely willing to skew more to the goofy), with the director promising a similar tone to the comics.
