Silent Night is one of the more ambitious action films this year. The film tells the story with almost no dialogue relying on the action and performance throughout the film. Actress Catalina Sandino Moreno had the daunting task of expressing her emotions and feelings about the loss of a child and the struggle to support her mourning husband.

The film stars Joel Kinnaman (The Killing, Robocop, Suicide Squad), Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi (The Harder They Fall, X), Harold Torres (Memory, ZeroZeroZero), and Catalina Sandino Moreno.

Here is the full synopsis of Silent Night:

From legendary director John Woo and the producer of John Wick comes this gritty revenge tale of a tormented father (Joel Kinnaman) who witnesses his young son die when caught in a gang’s crossfire on Christmas Eve. While recovering from a wound that costs him his voice, he makes vengeance his life’s mission and embarks on a punishing training regimen in order to avenge his son’s death. Full of Woo’s signature style, Silent Night redefines the action genre with visceral, thrill-a-minute storytelling.
