Skeleton Crew creators Jon Watts and Chris Ford reveal an interesting detail about their upcoming Star Wars series, which was then removed. The pair spoke with Star Wars.com and whilst they were careful to stay spoiler free, they did give us some new details we didn’t have previously. For the full interview please see the link above.
No One has Heard Of The Kid’s Planet
From the trailers shown it does look as though the kid’s planet is a little different to others we have seen. Now it is revealed that once the kids get lost, no one else they meet has ever heard of their planet. Check the quotes below, this was from Chris Ford.
“It’s the story of kids who happen to live on what they think of as a boring planet — it seems like the suburbs and nothing ever happens,” says series co-creator Chris Ford. “And one day they find an old spaceship and it blasts them off, out into the galaxy.” But finding their way back quickly becomes complicated. “They realize once they’re out there that no one’s ever heard of their home planet.”
However, you won’t see this passage (as is) above if you click on the link. That’s because the article has been edited to take this section out. Specifically the part about no one knowing where their home planet is. Which, therefore makes it seems like it’s important, doesn’t it?

I mean, that’s a tad strange isn’t it? Is there a reason this planet seems to be unknown to the various denizens of the Galaxy met on the way back? It could just be that it’s boring enough no one bothered with it. That was what some fans were saying before the article was edited. However, I wonder if there is a bigger story reason why no one has heard of the planet before? We also see in the trailer that they use what one person refers to as Old Republic Credits. Given where we are in the timeline, that’s also odd. It seems to also suggest something weird about their home planet.
Meanwhile we also got confirmation of another detail in this interview. That Neel, despite looks, is not the same species as Max Rebo from Return of the Jedi.
What do you think as Skeleton Crew creators Jon Watts and Chris Ford reveal an interesting detail about their upcoming Star Wars series which was then removed? Do you think this was something they were supposed to keep quiet? Why else would they edit the article on the official site? Thoughts below.
