Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na Batmaaaaaan! Christmas came late for Snyder fans because love him. Hate him. Hate to love him. Love to hate him. Fact is, Batman is going nowhere. He’s been around since the 1930s. He’s more than an idea. Batman is a symbol. Who portrays him is totally open to interpretation. Numerous actors have donned the cowl of the Bat. On screen, we’ve seen actors as obscure as Lewis G. Wilson and Robert Lowrey. Then there have been the higher profile well-knowns such as Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and George Clooney to name a few.
Director Zack Snyder, having recently interpreted the most recent film adaptation appearance of Batman wants you to know he has a favorite Batman. He also has some very lovely photos to back up his choice who is none other than Ben Affleck. Thanks to Snyder, we have some newly released moody still shots of Batfleck and Affleck’s stunt double Richard Cetrone.
I have to say the images are on point. Batman looks authentic and might be the best interpretation we got. Now how well these still images translated to the giant blown-up motion of a big screen is up to debate. While I believe that Affleck looked the part, there seems to have been a disconnect as to how well he could carry the part. Heavy is the head that wears the cowl they say, or something along those lines.
What do you think about Affleck being Snyder’s top pick for a perfect Batman?
