Sonic The Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone LEGO Set Coming Soon

One of the biggest video game franchises, Sonic the Hedgehog first released in 1991 from Sega. Sonic is a video game franchise that’s still going strong today and even making it to a film franchise. Now, LEGO is getting in on Sonic’s success. LEGO is bringing us the Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone set this New Year’s.

Sonic The Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone LEGO Set

This build looks really cute except for Dr. Eggman. His face is really weird, but the other characters look good. The set come with 1125 pieces and is priced at $69.99. It has a vertical loop, emeralds with stand, buildable TVs, and, of course, rings. I also see a peg at the end so maybe there will be more sets to come. It seems obvious that they would, but plans can change. The Green Hill Zone set will be released on January 1.

When I first heard that there would be a Sonic the Hedgehog movie, I thought it was a terrible idea. There have been a lot of video game to film adaptations that have been failures. The 1993 Super Mario Bros. still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. But I really liked the Sonic movie and I’m looking forward to the sequel. We will be getting a Super Mario movie that is supposed to be released in 2022 and is still untitled. Will the Super Mario movie be able to compete with the success of Sonic the Hedgehog. Will the competition return after 30 years? I doubt it. LEGO Mario has been huge, but I guess everyone wants on the big screen.

What do you think of the Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone LEGO set? Are you hoping LEGO makes more Sonic sets?
