If you can believe it, we have less than a month to go until the Sonic the Hedgehog movie hits theaters. While it may not be anywhere near as good as, say, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu was, it is admirable that the filmmakers went back and redesigned the lead character following the outrage. And now, all we can do is wait and see whether or not the film is better in context than in trailer form.

In celebration of the film’s Valentine’s Day release, the cast has released three new motion posters for the three lead characters. This includes Sonic, Robotnik, and Maddie.

A part of me is still a bit sad that they opted to go with Robotnik instead of Doctor Eggman. I remember growing up and thinking his name was Robotnik, but in the early-2000s, the American games seemed to shift away from that to Eggman. Now, I guess we’re back again? Eitehr way, it’s weird, yo.

As far as the characters go, I’m no expert in the human characters, I’m fairly certain these are original characters to the film. And the perfectionist in me is annoyed that James Marsden posted his poster to Instagram as a story and not as a post.
