Spider-Man and Superman Unite Again in Epic Marvel/DC Crossover

Marvel and DC are once again joining forces for a historic crossover, and this time, they’re going bigger than ever. SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN #1 is set to hit shelves on April 22, celebrating five decades since the groundbreaking team-up that first united two of comics’ most iconic heroes.

This new one-shot commemorates the 50th anniversary of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, the first-ever crossover between Marvel and DC. That landmark issue helped define what was possible when comic book universes collide, and now, the tradition continues with a modern twist.

The upcoming issue also follows closely behind DC’s recent Superman/Spider-Man #1, making this a rare back-to-back collaboration between the two publishing giants.

Leading the charge is bestselling author Brad Meltzer alongside acclaimed artist Pepe Larraz. Their main story throws Spider-Man and Superman into a high-stakes conflict against a lineup of legendary villains, including Norman Osborn and Lex Luthor.

Beyond the headline story, SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN #1 packs in eight total tales, each offering a unique spin on Marvel and DC’s shared sandbox:

  • Dan Slott and Marcos Martin bring Spider-Man Noir face-to-face with a Golden Age version of Superman in a noir-inspired 1930s setting.
  • Geoff Johns returns to Marvel for the first time in over two decades, teaming with Gary Frank for a mysterious crossover involving Mysterio.
  • Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman reunite for a cosmic-scale battle featuring Jane Foster as Thor alongside Wonder Woman.
  • Louise Simonson and Todd Nauck spotlight Steel in a clash with the Hobgoblin.
  • Joe Kelly and Humberto Ramos deliver a lighter, campus-set story featuring Gwen Stacy and Lana Lang.
  • Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli reunite to pair Miles Morales with Superman.
  • Stephanie Phillips and Phil Noto craft a high-stakes adventure starring Ghost-Spider and Supergirl.
  • Finally, Jeph Loeb and Jim Cheung reunite for their own take on the iconic team-up.

At its core, SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN #1 isn’t just another crossover, it’s a celebration of comic book history, legacy, and the enduring appeal of seeing beloved heroes share the same page. By blending nostalgia with fresh creative voices, Marvel and DC are delivering a project that feels both like a tribute and a bold step forward.

Fans won’t have to wait long to experience it. The issue arrives in comic shops on April 22, promising a must read event for longtime collectors and new readers alike.
