I think we can officially call this one a hit as Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits the all-time number 1 spot for domestic box office earnings. Now of course, there’s inflation to factor in, and as yet Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn’t close to beating the number 1 ticket sales of all-time, but good luck with that in 2026.
Brand New Day has now overtaken Disney property Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the box office King of America. I’m sure given that Disney gets cut of the profits that they will be quite happy to see this record broken. Though, I’m also sure they’d love to see it beaten again in December with Avengers: Doomsday.
Personally, I think Doomsday will have a tough job matching Brand New Day, but we’ll see.

Sony Pictures‘ spectacularly successful superhero blockbuster has become the highest-grossing title on the all-time North American chart with $936.773 million. The new domestic champion hit the top spot after 47 days of release, surpassing the previous record of $936.6 million for 2015’s Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s historic run has included becoming the fastest feature to hit every major domestic milestone, from $400 million through $900 million. Additionally, it stands at No. 3 on the all-time global chart, behind overall leader Avatar and second-place title Avengers: Endgame.

It’ll be interesting to see if Avengers: Endgame Encore can lift the movie beyond Avatar in the global number 1 spot. Then it’ll be interesting to see what James Cameron does to get his film back on top.
Personally I don’t care too much for Avatar, the first film was cool to see the 3D and then I was done with it. That being said I don’t feel like fans really care who is in the number 1 spot, it’s the studios and directors. Back to Spider-Man…
