We have a tease of the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day soundtrack to share today, plus confirmation from J.K. Simmons that J.J. Jamieson isn’t in the film. Let’s start with that tease of the new soundtrack from composer Michael Giacchino. Giacchino drops a small sample of his variation on the main Spider-Man them for this new era, check it out.
It’s familiar but different, which I think does add to that image of Brand New Day being a new era in Peter’s life and if rumors are to be believed the beginning of a new trilogy.
There are signs we are getting a new, final trailer for Brand New Day sometime today. It could even be out by the time I get this published. Thus far the movie is tracking for an opening above $500m, some are saying it could even generate $600m and break the likes of Superman, Thunderbolts* and many other superhero movie’s entire incomings.

One character fans should not expect to see in Brand New Day is J. J. Jamieson. Though J.K. Simmons took up the role again in Far From Home he did not appear in No Way Home. Now Simmons confirms in a recent interview with ComicBook.com that he’s not in Brand New Day either.
“Not in it, dude. I don’t know who on the internet decided that that was fact, but I ain’t in it,” he said.
I mean, to be fair, I have never heard a single reliable rumor that Simmons was in Brand New Day, so I’m not sure the internet did decide he was in it. I’ve seen fans hope he is in it and try to fit him into the little bits of plot we know, but no insiders I trust claiming he was in.
From the sounds of things the movie is too busy to have Simmons in it. I for one would like to see him perhaps show up in the next movie, but it depends who’s writing the script I guess?
