Spider-Man: Far From Home – Tom Holland Shares BTS Video Leading To Hydro Man Speculation

Spider-Man: Far From Home, the sequel to Homecoming is currently filming in London, England. We don’t know a huge amount about the film’s premise as Marvel or Sony just have not released much of anything officially. For example, it’s been long rumored that Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing Mysterio in the movie, and yet even though Gyllenhaal has been spotted in London, nothing official has come out yet (he really is playing him we all think).

Many of the rest of the cast have been officially confirmed and that includes a brand new bit of casting announced by The Wrap yesterday, as Remy Hii (Crazy Rich Asians) has been cast in an unknown role. There has since been a lot of speculation that Hii will be playing Morris Bench aka Hydro Man, and until now, I would have said there was no real evidence to support this piece of speculation.

However, Spider-Man himself Tom Holland has released a short set video joking about how he does all his stunts himself, only to show his stunt double getting blasted by a huge jet of water (you can see where I am going with this). Since this video was released it has further fuelled speculation that Hydro Man will make an appearance in Far From Home. Now, Peter Parker being blasted by water does not immediately suggest confirmation that Hydro Man is in the movie. However, with all the other rumors flying about that Hii is playing Hydro Man, it does initially seem to add up. Check it out below for yourself.

At this point, I fully expect Marvel’s marketing strategy for this film is to release absolutely nothing and just let Tom Holland slowly leak out information, because he probably would do so anyway. But it would be nice to have at least Jake Gyllenhaal confirmed before we start seeing him showing up in set videos or BTS photos, we know he is in after all.

I genuinely have no idea where they are going with this Spider-Man movie and I like that, though I am still not sure I want Spider-Man globetrotting. There’s just something iconic about Spider-Man and Manhattan for me, where else other than perhaps Hong Kong, would you get so many huge towers so close to one another, and that I think adds to how effective Spidey’s abilities are in his home turf.

What do you think of the video Holland shared, are you jumping on the Hydro Man bandwagon, or is my speculation washed out…..Ok, that was bad pun. Sound off and put on your speculation pants in the usual place below.
