Spider-Man: Far From Home – Yup, That Was Maria Hill In The New Trailer, Cobie Smulders Confirms

A couple of days ago, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sure, they called it a “teaser trailer” in the title, but the damn thing was longer than your average trailer and it featured more Easter eggs than you can shake a stick at. So, yeah, we’re calling it a trailer here.

Of course, one of the big center points of the trailer was none other than Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. While Tony Stark played a huge role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, it looks like Fury will be the one connecting Peter Parker to the MCU at-large in this movie, which we’re all for. But Nick Fury rarely travels alone, and during the film’s production, it was revealed that his usual partner Maria Hill, played by Cobie Smulders, would be joining in.

But was she in the trailer? There was a shot in there with Nick Fury and some woman facing off against an Elemental (or Sandman?). We all pretty much assumed that was Maria Hill, but if there was any doubt, you can lay that to rest, as the actress has called herself out on social media.

So what does this mean? Well, it’s not exactly a huge confirmation, but it does confirm one thing for me: Nick Fury ain’t Chameleon in disguise. One main reason…why would Chameleon fake Maria Hill for Peter Parker? It’s not like Peter has ever met them and know that she’s always with him. At least that’s my two cents on the matter.
