Spider-Man: Homecoming – New Teaser Shows Off Brand New Spidey Tech, Trailer Hits Tomorrow!

The last few days of last week may have been super-focused on Justice League. With each member of the league getting their own mini-teaser, all culminating in the first official trailer on Saturday (excluding the San Diego Comic-Con first look), it certainly stirred up a decent amount of conversation among fandom, positive or not (because, haters). But in true Marvel studio, the spotlight couldn’t be on the Justice League forever.

Late last week, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios released a few new posters for their upcoming film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first standalone film featuring Tom Holland as the titular Spider-Man. Now, earlier this Monday morning, the official Twitter account for the film teased a brand new teaser for the film’s upcoming trailer.

Check it out below!

As you saw, in the little clip, we get to see that Peter’s spider logo is actually a functioning robotic spider (a.k.a. the Spider-Tracer)! Given that the spider logo was just a black imprint in Captain America: Civil War, I have to assume that this is a newer suit Spidey is dealing with (especially since the wide shot of him in the suit actually looks like a much different suit), and I’m interested to see what kind of extra high-tech functionality the spider will give him. Additionally, the clip showed another blurry look at Michael Keaton’s Vulture villain, whose green glowy eyes are the stuff of nightmares. The pair seem to have a fight on the wing of an airplane, and we can’t help but wonder how either of them will avoid getting sucked into the jet engine.

The official synopsis for Spider-Man: Homecoming is below:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
