Star War: The Last Jedi – Kylo Ren’s New Ship Revealed?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi still has many secrets to reveal to us over the coming months. Not long ago we brought you details of a spy report first revealed by Making Star Wars, and in this report, we described details of Kylo Ren’s new star fighter that he will be using in the upcoming Star Wars flick. I said at the time it was difficult to imagine based on the description, a cross between TIE Interceptor and Vader’s TIE Advanced, but with a pill shaped body and engines like the Millennium Falcon. You never truly know how accurate these spy reports and leaks will be until they are either debunked or confirmed.

Well imagine no more, because today we have a picture for you of Kylo Ren’s new ship from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Often with these big tentpole movies, the merchandising has to be ready well in advance of the movie’s release, and we have previously had early leaks of designs and characters from LEGO sets and action figures, which confirmed many spy reports.

An online site linked here has pictures of a toy version of Kylo’s new ride for you to feast over.

Below you can see the ship in question and it matches the spy report pretty well, it does look like a cross between a TIE Interceptor from Return of The Jedi mixed with Vader’s TIE Advanced from A New Hope, though it’s hard to see the ‘pill shaped body’ in this photo as we can only see the rear of the vehicle here.

I like it, as said the ship looks very much like Vader’s and this fits with Kylo Ren’s character. He is clearly obsessed with his maternal Grandfather whowas formerly a Dark Lord of the Sith and enforcer of the Empire, he modelled his costume and helmet on Vader, makes sense he would also do the same for his star ship. It’s also a good indication that the rest of the leaks on that story are accurate (or were accurate at the time) given that they were from the same source

One of the things I’m keen to see is how good a pilot Kylo (AKA Ben Solo) is, after all his pedigree is strong with Anakin Skywalker as a grandfather and Han Solo as his dad. Although we rarely get to see the villains fly ships in anything but a straight line in these movies, the fancy flying is saved for the good guys most often.

What do you think? Like the new design or hate it? As always let us know in the comments below
