STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE – Diego Luna Has Trust Issues In New Clip

Okay, folks, we are officially less than two weeks away from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. As stated in countless other articles, this stands to potentially be the biggest gamble for Lucasfilm — definitely bigger than least year’s saga film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. After all, after the impending release of Star Wars Episode IX, we don’t even know if there are plans to continue the saga. Films like Rogue One may very well make up the franchise’s bread and butter before long. As such, it’s important that this be a success for the studio.

With its release on the horizon, we’ve been seeing trailers and TV spots one after another. This is the final marketing push from them, and it will be crucial to guarantee its success. They’ve already released a first clip wherein characters Jyn and Cassian take on a band of stormtroopers (though that clip has already been taken down by the studio). Now, as a part of this last push, they have released a second clip from the film.

I think it goes without saying that if you’re planning on going into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story completely fresh, that you actually check out the clip.

So this scene very obviously comes at a moment where Jyn is still a bit of a wild card for the Rebellion. There is no real trust between them just yet, I’d bet that Cassian is only going along with this because of the strict orders from Mon Mothma. I for one appreciate the tone here. As was pitched to fans when the film was first announced, this feels like a very grounded and real scene — though it’s not completely devoid of the lighthearted Star Wars tone we’ve grown to know and love. As someone who is already interested, this makes me want to see the film even more.

But, as I’m someone who was on board to begin with, who knows if that means it’s an effective clip. What about those of you who aren’t quite sold on the trailers just yet? Does this clip change your mind? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
