We got some more news regarding another Disney+ Star Wars series. As The Mandalorian continues to permeate the pop culture-sphere, it seems to confirm that interest in the franchise is still plenty alive, and I can only imagine it’ll be giving Lucasfilm that much more confidence going forward.
One series in the work apart from the Obi-Wan series is the untitled Cassian Andor series. According to Discussing Film, the show will begin shooting in Europe in June 2020. This puts it just a month ahead of Obi-Wan, meaning that it’ll likely hit before the Ewan McGregor series.

Diego Luna is expected to return, along with Alan Tudyk as K-2SO, but there are also rumors regarding the scope of the show. The outlet states they are hearing there will be flashbacks showing a young Cassian, and that they are casting both nine-year-old and 13-year-old versions of the young Rebel.
This announcement comes just under two months after it was revealed that Tony Gilroy — the man who swooped in and saved Rogue One: A Star Wars Story from total destruction — signed on as writer and director of multiple episodes.
How do you feel about there being flashbacks in the show, and do you think Disney is jumping the gun by having two series filming so close to one another? Let us know your thoughts down below!
