Star Wars: Rumored Sith Troopers Now Confirmed For The Rise Of Skywalker

We have shared many rumors and potential leaks regarding Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, in fact there are some rumors so spoiler-filled we have refused to share them on here as yet as they point toward the finale of the movie. However, one of the things we have shared previously was a description of some new Stormtroopers who were referred to as Sith Troopers, though no one knew if that was their real name. These troopers were supposedly in red uniforms as opposed to the normal white.

Well, now we can chalk this rumor up as confirmed because the Sith Trooper has been officially unveiled over at StarWars.com. The images below are from the official site showing a new black series action figure of one of these new Sith Troopers along with a Funko Pop. So what does this tell us about The Rise of Skywalker?

Well as always, the fact this rumor has been confirmed means that it makes the other rumors from the same source more likely to be reliable also. This leak was shared initially by MSW a way back and certainly included many other details. This also makes me more likely to believe some of the more spoiler-filled rumors I have heard from this source and that means the ending of this movie is probably already out there. So be wary when looking for news of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We’ve decided not to share the rumoured end of this movie, but we will continue to share smaller details like this, especially when they become official. However, we can surmise a few things from this reveal, so let’s discuss that shall we?

The fact that these troops are called Sith Troopers tells us (in my opinion) that these guys are not working with Supreme Leader Ren. Lucasfilm, JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson have all confirmed previously that Kylo Ren is not a Sith Lord, so it seems unlikely he would have an army of Sith Troopers. Saying that, I still don’t really get the whole not being a Sith aspect of this trilogy, and it’s one of the continuity problems that bothers me.

It seems highly likely that these troops will be working for The Emperor who is going to be involved in some shape or fashion in this movie officially, we just don’t know the context of his involvement at this time. There’s a good chance that when he does show up, he will have an army of Sith Troopers backing him up this time, let’s hope they can’t shoot any better than the regular troopers or the good guys are in trouble?

What do you think of the Sith Trooper design, now that it’s out there, do you like it, or is it just a different color to sell new toys?
