The latest Barside Buzz on Star Wars rumors says James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi movie to film next year, another potential Rey movie plus much more. Todays rumors all come from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service.
Daniel says he’s heard that James Mangold’s in development Dawn of the Jedi movie will film as early as next year. Though as with all Star Wars films currently, I’ll believe it when the cameras start rolling.
Daniel also claims that in addition to the Rey character being wanted for the Obaid-Chinoy movie, the Shawn Levy movie and the Simon Kinberg trilogy, that there is another potential movie in development which has a use for Rey. One would assume not all of these projects will see it to film. The question now is which one gets there first? What seems clear is that surely all these projects featuring Rey can’t go ahead?
Daniel also backs up what Jeff Sneider has said previously. Namely that a new writer has been found for the Rey Sequel from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. However I don’t think that guarantees this movie won’t get dropped in favour of one of the others.

Additionally, Daniel claims the Dave Filoni Star Wars movie is slated to begin filming in 2026.
On the TV series front Daniel has heard Visions Vol. 4 is already in development. He’s also heard that Ahsoka Season 2 is being built as the last one in case it does not get renewed for a Season 3. Finally he also says a new CGI TV project is in the works with no known title yet.
My opinion on Ahsoka is that it will be too costly for what their trying to do with all Star Wars and Marvel series going forwards. However, all that remains to be seen. I personally though Ahsoka was a poor series and would need to see a big improvement in Season 2.
