Star Wars sequel trilogy star John Boyega says he has already spoken to new Lucasfilm co-president Dave Filoni about a return to the franchise. Boyega starred alongside Daisy Ridley in the Episodes 7-9 as Finn, the former Stormtrooper turned Rebel, turned Jedi.
As per Screen Rant,
‘Star Wars actor John Boyega sparked excitement among fans about a possible return to the franchise in the near future at MEGACON Orlando, revealing that discussions were happening behind the scenes.’
‘Boyega was asked about the possibility of reprising his role in future projects. One enthusiastic fan reportedly shouted, “Get Dave [Filoni] on the phone.” And the actor’s response immediately grabbed the audience’s attention.’
‘The star stated, “I actually have, actually,” implying that discussions with the President and Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm, Filoni, may have already taken place.’
It remains to be seen where or when Boyega could return? There was an actual announcement Daisy Ridley was returning and so far nothing has progressed with that film at all. I think most fans agreed that Rey returning without Finn would be weird.

There are definitely a lot of sequel trilogy fans who wish to see Boyega come back. Especially now it’s been shown he’s able to learn to be a Jedi. I myself have very little interest in what comes after the ST because it was so bad. However, I don’t blame any of the actors for that. It was the writing that let those films down and the writing alone.
