Star Wars: The Acolyte is to release this Summer on Disney+ and rumor is there is a trailer ready to drop. The release date information comes from Collider. The Acolyte we knew was coming this year, but with no real idea of when to expect it. Here is what the outlet had to say.
‘Ever since releasing its first trailer at Star Wars Celebration in London last year, the hype for Star Wars series The Acolyte has only grown, with fans eager for any update on the highly-anticipated project. Now, Collider has learned that the live-action High Republic-set series from creator Leslye Headland is set to release on Disney+ this summer.’
I’m not sure calling this a High Republic series is really accurate. This show is set around 100+ years prior to The Phantom Menace and that’s not really the High Republic anymore. Instead we are between the HR and the Fall of the Republic period. Also, as you can read for yourself, we have no solid date to anticipate. All we know is that it is coming in Summer which would be July or August.

Secondly we have a rumor from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service that trailers are finalized and ready to drop for both The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew. Fans attending conventions have already seen some footage from both shows. If you know where to look, you can find both online. I have done so and my initial thoughts are intrigued by The Acolyte and non-plussed by Skeleton Crew. However the vast majority of people across the globe have not seen any footage from either show yet.
Some fans even wondered whether these could surprise drop at Superbowl last night. I am writing this before the game is played, but no insiders are claiming this will happen. I guess this will look a bit daft if it dropped but it seems unlikely. However the fact trailers are locked means it’s now simply a call from Disney as to when they get released online.
