After years of petitions and outcry Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans will finally get the ending they deserve. Announced two years ago at the ten year anniversary panel at San Diego Comic Con that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be coming back for one more season. The official premiere date will be February 21st and can be streamed exclusively on Disney+. This date is slightly different than what was reported earlier this year of February 17th.
This very popular animated series, spins off the theatrical film that shares the same name Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which first premiered on Cartoon Network back in 2008 and it ran for five seasons. When Disney purchased Lucasfilm production came to an abrupt end. In 2014 via Netflix a sixth season that was named “The Lost Missions” was released which consisted of three story arcs that had finished production prior to the purchase from Disney.

For the most part fans along with creator Davie Filoni felt that the series really didn’t have a proper ending, so like any good fan base, they campaigned for another season. The new Clone Wars episodes will continue the storylines introduced in the original series, exploring the events leading up to Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
