While many fans would have you believe that Star Wars is heading down the toilet, what with The Last Jedi existing and all, but with The Rise of Skywalker coming out, the opening of the Galaxy’s Edge theme park, and a couple of different Disney+ series on the way, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
With D23 coming up, it was only a matter of time until it was revealed that one of their upcoming live-action series, The Mandalorian, was announced. And here we are, with the official announcement. So if you’re headed to D23, here’s something more solid for you to cling onto.
Here’s what the official announcement had to say:
“During the Disney+ panel on Friday, August 23 at 3:30 p.m. in Hall D23, get a sneak preview of the upcoming live-action series The Mandalorian. Executive producer Jon Favreau will be joined by Dave Filoni (supervising director on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and writer/director on The Mandalorian) and other special guests for an on-stage presentation offering a glimpse at the titular bounty hunter and his travels to the outer reaches of the galaxy far, far away.”
Some lucky audiences have already had a chance to see some scenes from The Mandalorian, but the more the better, right? I also expect Disney+ will be another big part of this year’s convention, as it’ll be how fans will be able to watch the series in the first place.
