Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Early Reactions Appear Online – What do the Critics Think?

Well, it’s finally here, folks. The third and final Star Wars movie of the sequel trilogy and the finale of the nine-part Skywalker Saga has had its premiere and some critics have begun to see the movie and of course, while the review embargo is Friday, December 20th, those early social media reactions are already up from many.

Now, we always share these for every big tent pole movie and we can never fully judge until more people begin to see it. At times we have mediocre reactions and the movie is a hit with fans, sometimes (like The Last Jedi) we get gushing love letters and the fans just don’t agree. Which will it be this time? No idea as I have not seen the movie yet, but I do see it in around 48 hours’ time, so if you wanna here what Kyle Malone and I thought of The Rise of Skywalker spoiler-free, tune into LRMornings on Friday 20th, and then later that day we have a special The Last Call Podcast roundtable (spoilers allowed) discussion between as many LRM contributors as we can lay our hands on. In the meantime, lemme shut up and start sharing some of these online reactions to the movie eh?

Most of these are fairly to very positive, and this goes beyond the few I have shared here as well, I always try to find one or two less enthusiastic reactions as well, and those last two were the least positive ones I could find at this time. But we have to remember how positive the reactions were to The Last Jedi, and we all know how divisive that movie became with fans. As with any movie, I’ll wait till I see it and give my own honest take on it, though at the same time, why should you listen what I think either?

I think with Star Wars, fans need to judge the movie by themselves and over the course of a week or two, we will start to see how the fan base at large took to this final chapter, and what it could mean for this franchise moving forward.

What do you think of the early reactions so far, predictable, concerning, hopeful? Leave your thoughts in the usual place.
