Star Wars may be a huge, epic story with dogfights set in space, but it’s also always been a movie series about the little guy taking on the big guy and winning. It’s about a humble farm boy leaving his planet behind to explore bigger worlds, or a scavenger from nowhere finding her place in the universe. It’s about the ongoing struggle against insurmountable forces.

That trend still continues in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will see the Resistance once again taking on The First Order — presumably for the last time. This idea is reflected perfectly in the brand-new poster.

As you can see, this poster shows a lone X-Wing fighter taking on an entire armada of Star Destroyers. Given the history of all the characters in the current trilogy, one could surmise that Poe Dameron is the one taking on this fleet, but that doesn’t necessarily make it the case, as I think this poster is mostly meant to be metaphorical in nature.
