Stephen King Getting Carrie Limited Series At FX

Carrie is well-known not only for being a pretty great story, but for being Stephen King’s first published work. Quite famously, King himself threw out the story before his wife fished it from the garbaged and encouraged him to submit it for publication. The rest, it seems, is history, and it’s not only a great novel, but has two film adaptations to its name.

A few years back, Chloe Grace Moretz starred in a remake of the novel, but it looks like the world is not done with it yet. Collider is reporting that FX and MGM TV are developing a limited series based on the classic novel.

But, it seems like there could be a twist in terms of casting the main lead, as the outlet states the telekinetic teen could be played by either a trans performer or actress  of color. Quite honestly, I do think the trans performer could add a whole other layer to the story and would prefer to see something like that over a cis actress of color — assuming the trans nature of the character plays a role.

Given that this story has already been told twice in a similar manner (excluding sequels), I’m all for changing it up and reinterpreting the source material, hence my desire to see a different take.
