According to the latest Barside Buzz, Steve Rogers is rumored to feature heavily in the plot of Avengers: Doomsday. Just this past week he heard a rumor from this same sources saying that Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is in the film, and his codename to keep him secret was Luke Cage. In that article I also explained his this could be connected to an old fashioned house set used for filming which was labelled Luke Cage’s house.
**Warning before we go any further. If this ends up being legit, It may be quite a SPOILER for Avengers: Doomsday. **
IF the rumor below is true, it would connect all these three dots together extremely well. As always, pinch of salt. MTTSH has been on and off and then back on my list of leakers I cover. However, I still have my occasional doubts.
According to MTTSH,
When Steve Rogers went back in time to live with Peggy Carter post-Endgame, he reportedly created the incursions. Therefore, Doctor Doom reportedly wants him dead in Avengers: Doomsday.
Given time travel as established in Endgame, we all questioned how Steve was able to go back in time without it branching into a new timeline. Or maybe it did but he was still able to return to his own past/future? Either way, as said above, if this is all true, then it’s possible someone visits Steve in the late 40’s, maybe even to attempt to kill him?

I think we have to remember that it’s likely Doctor Doom will view himself as a hero and a saviour in Doomsday. Though he’ll likely go too far and have to be stopped in Secret Wars.
Thus, we will have Chris Evans and RDJ both back for the very next Avengers film after both of their end’s in Endgame. I’m fine with RDJ because he’s not Tony Stark. I’ve always said I’d be fine with Evans returning as an Old Cap down the line. But coming back so quick, I’m less sure it’s a good idea. Of course it’s the right idea for short term money gain. If they market Evans and RDJ the film will pull in more box office, fact. However, will it be the right narrative choice going forward?
Let me know what you think of this rumor that Steve Rogers is heavily involved in the plot of Avengers: Doomsday? Thoughts below.
