Last October, LRM Online had the opportunity to speak with StoryFix Media co-founder Christopher Webster. He was on an episode of our own Los Fanboys promoting his game The Pulse. Though, as close as it seemed to release back then, it would be another eight months until the text-based game made it to Google Play.
Now, we are here to report that the game has made it to the platform! CLICK HERE! to check it out for yourself. While the game itself is text-based, it certainly gives off more a feeling akin to, say, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, in that it allows you to make choices throughout the text conversations.
Last year, when I asked about their inspirations for the game, Webster said:
“We were inspired to modernize the choose your own adventure medium using technology available today. We wanted to implicate people in the story rather than just letting them be passive. Playing The Pulse is so much more than making binary choices like in the old days. While you play, the game tracks all kinds of things like how trustworthy you are, how impatient, and how much time you want to invest getting to know the characters. It really feels like the future of storytelling in that way.”
I’ve only just started the game myself, but stay tuned for a full review when I finished! In the meantime, check it out HERE! You can also check out our episode with him down below!
