Stranger Things 3 was a great season of the hit show for me, in fact you can catch our take on it by checking out this week’s Breaking Geek Radio: The Podcast in the related section below, just excuse the awful singing at the start of it ha. So I guess thoughts are now turning to Season 4, which does seem set to be the finale of the hit show on Netflix.

Now, we have learned through the ever reliable Production Weekly that Stranger Things 4 is set to begin filming this October. Now that means going by previous season that Season 4 could be ready around October of 2020. However, given the hints in Stranger Things 3 about the characters meeting back up the following Christmas, and given the trend of each season being during a holiday, I would guess that Stranger Things 4 would be hitting Netflix around Christmas holiday season 2020.

We still have no idea exactly what Stranger Things 4 will be about, but one must assume that somehow Hopper has survived and is being held captive in Russia. How they would ever go about rescuing Hop from within the USSR as it was then, seems hard to work out. I can’t imagine Steve and Dustin extracting Hop in military extraction, so who knows where things will go?

Whatever does happen, it seems like Stranger Things 4 will be the end of this story. I guess it remains to be seen how the Duffer Brother’s will look to top Season 3 and finish the story off with a bang? I for one can’t wait to see how this story ends and where all our favourite characters end up, though I will assume that it won’t all be one big happy ending for the kids of Hawkins, Indiana if they are going to end the threat of the Upside down and the Mind Flayer. If the Russian’s have a Demogorgon, then it hints to me that they have managed to open up a fissure to the Upside Down back in Russia. Is that enough to let the Mind Flayer wreak havoc in Hawkins again, perhaps looking for revenge against the kids who keep defeating it?

I do think Eleven’s lack of powers will come into Season 4, and I’d guess this may provide a link into the infamous episode 7 of Season 2 where Eleven found other people with similar powers to her. Is it also possible that the Russian’s have developed kids with super powers like the Americans did? It’s all very intriguing to speculate on at this point.

What do you think of this news, do you agree with me that Stranger Things 4 will hit Netflix in time for Christmas 2020? Share your thoughts and any theories you have in the Upside Down below.
