Few shows have managed to have the same unexpected success as Stranger Things. Between the perfect blend of ‘80s pop culture, genuine scares, and lovable characters, it managed to be a recipe made for success. Season 2 was an inevitability, but the question has always either been, “when?” or “can it possibly be as good as the first season?”

While the latter question will only bee answered when Season 2 hits Netflix, we now know when that time will be. According to the Super Bowl spot for the horror series, Stranger Things Season 2 is coming Halloween 2017.

While it’s no surprise that the fan favorite character Eleven will be coming back, it’s always nice to hear it in context of the actual show. If you missed it, in the trailer, we hear one of the boys cry out Eleven’s name. Wonder how they plan on explaining the whole exploding into dust thing.

The synopsis for Season 2 of Stranger Things is as follows:

“A year after Will’s return, everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins.”
