Sung Kang confirms he uses a Lightsaber in Obi-Wan Kenobi! However, what color is that Lightsaber? In an interview with Screen Rant, Kang reveals both that he was on set with Darth Vader and that his character uses a lightsaber in the show.
“I used to dress up in the cheap K-mart plastic Halloween costumes, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, almost every single day from 8 to 13 years old. My friends and I would play pretend, we would make our own lightsabers out of toilet paper centers and stuff like that and paper towel cardboard, and to be able to be on set and see Darth Vader and see the Star Wars Universe in front of me, I mean — just as a fan to be able to be part of that history is pretty amazing. I kept pinching myself to go, ‘How did I end up here?’ and, my character has a lightsaber, to go, ‘What? This is.. It’s not a toy. It’s actually the real thing, right?’ so pretty cool.”

Whilst Kang could be playing a Jedi who escaped Order 66, I think the hints here are more indicative of him playing an Inquisitor in the show? We had the same question until LRM confirmed Moses Ingram was an Inquisitor, so one wonders if that will be the same here? Inquisitor is at least is the prevailing theory amongst the fan base online after this interview. I see no reason to go against the majority here. No guarantees of course, and it might be some time before we get a definitive answers to this question.

But right now, given all we know and Kang’s own words, I believe the color of that Lightsaber is going to be red. That’s not information from LRM‘s sources, just my own guess based upon what we see here. And as said above, I’m hardly alone here.
