Super Mario World OST Restored By Data Miners

Thanks to last year’s now-famous gigaleak at Nintendo, data miners were able to restore the uncompressed original soundtrack to Super Mario World. Using instrument samples found in the data leak, we now have what some might consider improved versions of some classic Mario tunes.

These incredibly catchy tunes will take you on a nostalgic trip through the mushroom kingdom back to the carefree days of your childhood (assuming you grew up in a time when the SNES was the console to have). When the most troubling issue in your life was figuring out how to help a plumber rescue a princess.

They really are some great musical compositions that match the vibe of their respective levels. Creating an atmosphere to further immerse the player. These SNES jams will be stuck in your head for days. And while most songs that stick in our brains are ones we don’t necessarily like, I don’t mind these at all.

You’ll likely hear some slight, noticeable differences in the restored versions of the themes which you can check out below.

I find it both admirable and impressive how these themes were restored. That folks out there love Mario enough to want to take on a project such as this. They saw an opportunity in the data leak and took full advantage of it. Bravo.
