Given there’s no word of Henry Cavill returning, as yet, fans do wonder what Superman’s fate in the DCEU will be? After all, we know that The Flash introduces Sasha Calle as Supergirl and Michael Keaton as Batman. We already know that Ben Affleck wanted to leave the role and likely won’t return (anytime soon). However with Cavill the jury has been out slightly with many contradictory reports. Well, Screen Geek claims to have some knowledge about Kal’El and his fate in the ongoing DCEU after the events of The Flash.

Although I think Screen Geek can be hit and miss with their rumors, this one is also backed up my MTTTSH who I find to have a very good hit rate currently. No more warnings after the image.
According to Screen Geek Superman is no longer around in the DCEU gong forward and has indeed been replaced by Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. They say the reason for this change, is that in the new timeline Zod kills Kal’El as a baby and he is therefore never sent to Earth.
“According to our sources, newly cast Supergirl actress Sasha Calle is playing the Kara Danvers version of the character and will replace Superman actor Henry Cavill as the DCEU’s last survivor of Krypton. In the new rebooted timeline, the Kryptonian villain Zod kills Cavill’s Superman as a baby.”
As you can see below, this story was quickly backed up by MTTTSH.

I’m not against having a Supergirl for a bit instead of a Superman in the DCEU. However I cannot and will not ever think other than Henry Cavill is the perfect Superman actor. I think Cavill has been done dirty by WB. With his star power they are absolutely bonkers to not use him going forward. Use the rebooted timeline to change some aspects about his character. However having Zod kill him at birth? You just know this will all lead to a battle between Supergirl and Zod at some point. Thing is, we already had that and I don’t need to see it again. Is Zod the only villain Superman has?
Introducing Supergirl I am good with, deleting Superman I am not. I guess we will have to see how this plays out and whether this rumor is completely accurate?
Is this Superman’s fate in the DCEU, to die as a baby? Thoughts below as always.
