SWCC I Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Will Transport Its Guest To A Galaxy Far Far Away

When Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disneyland and Disney World later this year it will be the most immersive experience that Disney Imagineers will have created.  A five year project in the making Disney Imagineers have spared no expense in creating an environment that will transport every guest into the world of Star Wars.  Over the past three years Disney has released small details that tease how different an experience this expansion will be.  From the debut of two new rides Rise of the Resistance and The Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run to simple things like the ability to use your phones to decode secret text in Aurebesh located all around the park.  Two years ago at Star Wars Celebration Orlando the Galaxy’s Edge Panel was filled with just only concept art and designs because construction had only just begun in both Disney World and Disneyland.

With Galaxy’s Edge opening a little over a month away in Disneyland and a couple months in Disney World the panel this year at Star Wars Celebration Chicago had a lot more to show off.  The biggest reveal were the custom Coca-Cola products that come in bottles that look like thermal detonators and are coded in Aurebesh.  For Star Wars and Coke collectors this will be a must have item to add to their collections.

Some of the other reveals at the panel were at Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests will be able to build their own lightsaber, guided by ancient wisdom but crafted by the choices they make on their own adventure. Each build will begin with a personal connection to a kyber crystal used to ignite the custom lightsaber.  Inside Black Spire Outfitters, guests will be able to mix and match clothing to create their own galactic style.  Guests wanting to showcase their allegiance to the First Order will be able to choose among the gear and supplies that the 709th Legion brought with them to First Order Cargo. With all the reveals that have been laid out over the past year expected guest will not be disappointed during their time at Galaxy’s Edge.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens May 31, 2019, at Disneyland Resort in California and Aug. 29, 2019, at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
