SYFY’s Reginald the Vampire | Jacob Batalon Roundtable Interview

Jacob Batalon in Reginald the Vampire

Jacob Batalon takes the leap from the popular web-slinging film franchise of Spider-Man to the novel blood-thirsty vampire adaptation for SYFY’s Reginald the Vampire.

Based on the six novella book series of Fat Vampire by Johnny B. Truant, the story follows a human-turned-vampire cursed with this immortality and hated by his fellow community.

Here is the official synopsis:

Imagine a world populated by beautiful, fit, and vain vampires. Reginald Andres tumbles headlong into it as an unlikely hero who will have to navigate every kind of obstacle—the girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work, and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers he has a few unrecognized powers of his own. A new show with a lot of heart and just enough blood, Reginald the Vampire proves the undead life is just as complicated as life itself.

The adapted television series also star Em Haine (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Mandela Van Peebles (Mayor of Kingstown), Rachelle Goulding (Lethal Weapon), Aren Buchholz (When Calls the Heart), Savannah Basley (SurrealEstate), and Andre Anthony (Riverdale).  Harley Peyton (Chucky, Twin Peaks) is the showrunner and executive producer of the series.

Jacob Batalon gained international recognition for playing Spider-Man’s best friend Ned Leeds in five superhero movies beginning with Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017. The other Marvel Cinematic Universe films were Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: Now Way Home. He made his acting debut in 2016 with the film North Woods. In 2018, he starred in the young adult film Every Day.

Reginald the Vampire premieres tomorrow, October 5th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SYFY.
