Tales of the Walking Dead Announces More Cast Members

The Walking Dead

With The Walking Dead ending soon and with the recent series finale of The Walking Dead: World Beyond, it is not the end of the world for The Walking Dead franchise with its latest edition with Tales of the Walking Dead.

AMC announced its initial cast members for the anticipated series with Olivia Munn (The Newsroom, X-Men: Apocalypse), Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier), Loan Chabanol (Fading Gigolo), Embeth Davidtz (Old, Ray Donovan), and Jessie T. Usher (Shaft, The Boys).

The anthology series consists of six original standalone stories focused on both new and established characters within the franchise.

“Olivia, Danny, Loan, Embeth, and Jessie are the latest massive talents that will bring new worlds of TWD to life with big, daring, different, emotional, shocking, scary, and crazy stories. We’re excited for them to come to walk with us,” said Scott M. Gimple, a chief content officer of the Walking Dead Universe and executive producer.

These new cast members will join the initial cast from a previous announcement that included Anthony Edwards (Inventing Anna, WeCrashed), Parker Posey (Lost in Space), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Poppy Liu (Dead Ringers, and Jillian Bell (Rough Night).

Channing Powell, the writer, and producer of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, serves as the showrunner of the new series.

Powell added, “Somehow we have lucked into the greatest cast—Olivia, Jessie, Embeth, Danny, and Loan. We’ve been hoping these episodes will feel like unique, little films and with this range of actors, we are well on our way.

The six-episode anthology sets to make its debut this summer on AMC and AMC+. It will be the fourth series of the franchise and anchored AMC for more than a decade.
