Art imitates life. Or vice versa.
In Tim Sutton’s Taurus, the director/writer captured the turbulent lifestyle of a fictional musician that parallels many real-life musicians over the decades. Even more remarkable, the performance is captured with Colson Baker, also known as Machine Gun Kelly, in one of the best on-screen portrayals in his career.
Here is the official synopsis:
In Taurus, a rising but troubled musician searches for the inspiration to record his next song, pushing himself deep into the void. A work of fiction that explores fame, addiction, the artistic process, and the music industry, Taurus is a soulful and universal cautionary tale.
The film also stars Maddie Hasson (Malignant, Impulse), Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory (BMF, Euphoria), Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black, John Wick: Chapter 2), Scoot McNairy (Argo, 12 Years a Slave), Lil Tjay, and Naomi Wild.
