Deadpool 2 recently had a new trailer drop, and with it came plenty of jokes that fans seemed to really get a kick out of. However, if there was one joke that seemed to land particularly well, it was the DC joke.
In the trailer, Cable said, “You’re no f**king hero. You’re just a clown dressed up as a sex toy,” before stabbing him in the shoulder. Deadpool’s spot-on reaction was, “So dark. Are you sure you’re not from the DC Universe?” Boom! Shots fired! Well, sort of. As with everything Deadpool, it’s all in good fun. However, there was one Twitter account that wouldn’t let things stand…the Teen Titans Go! To the Movies Twitter account, where they called out Ryan Reynolds, saying:
“Hey @VancityReynolds, caught your new @deadpoolmovie trailer. Never forget – before you became a @Marvel character, you were a part of the @DCComics universe. #TeenTitansGOMovie”

Of course, as you can see in the tweet, they are referring to the maligned Green Lantern movie, which was the first false start for the DCEU. This is an especially brilliant response because, despite the reputation of the DCEU, many of the darkness they speak of don’t carry over to the show, and that goes double for Teen Titans Go!, which breaks the fourth wall just as often as Deadpool (even if it is more kid-friendly).
Reynolds hasn’t responded to the tweet yet, but I’m sure when he does, it’ll be golden.
