The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the rebooted film franchise shot mainly in New York, and it looks like the filmmakers enjoyed filming on the fictional team’s home turf because they’ve announced that its sequel will also film here. Paramount will start production on part two next month, and will apparently bring $70 million of spending to the Empire State.
The bulk of that ($63 million) will be spent right here in New York City, while the rest will go towards shooting they have planned up in Buffalo. “New York City knows how to host blockbuster films,” said the Crusader of Horses himself, Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The first Ninja Turtles flick, which came out back in 1990, took place in New York as well but mainly shot in North Carolina.
