Teyonah Parris talks Captain Marvel 2! Read on for more details.
Teyonah Parris, aka Monica Rambeau is making her MCU debut right now in WandaVision. The character she plays of course was introduced as a young girl within Captain Marvel. It therefore makes sense to most fans that Monica (and therefore Teyonah) will next show up in Captain Marvel 2. What Monica’s role will be seems unclear currently. I guess we need to see Monica’s story unfold somewhat more within WandaVision before we know where her story goes? We do know that Monica has a few different superhero aliases within the comics and therefore, most Marvel fans think Monica will get powers.
Parris recently spoke to Rotten Tomatoes and whilst she can’t say much, she did talk a little about the upcoming Captain Marvel 2. Parris does reveal she is excited to work with both Brie Larson and Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), both of which have been confirmed for the sequel.

“I can say we haven’t started shooting, and I don’t know when we will start,” Parris explained. “It’s very interesting times we’re in, so I imagine they’ll start as soon as they can when it’s safe for everybody. So we’ll see. I am excited, just as the actress, to join Brie and Iman and see what putting these three superheroes together — the Carol Danvers Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau — [to see] what will happen in that film,” Parris explained. “But yeah, the rest, we’re just going to have to wait a few weeks before we can really talk about it (laughs).”
One assumes Parris is referring to the fact she can’t talk too much about Monica until WandaVision finishes. It makes sense, right now the more casual audiences probably don’t even know Geraldine is Monica. Nor the fact they’ve seen this character before within Captain Marvel, as none of that is explained at all within WandaVision, yet. I’m sure we will find out more in the coming weeks though.
