The Bad Batch Season 3 Coming In 2024 And Will Be Final Season

However, the answer is no, Lucasfilm Animation is NOT shutting down.

So we’ve spent the weekend covering love-action, but there was some important animated Star Wars news as well. The Bad Batch Season 3 is coming in 2024, but it will be the final season of the show. Plus we have a teaser description to share. Season 2 of The Bad Batch just recently ended its run and despite an awful start really got quote interesting at the close. Attendees at SWC this weekend were treated to a Season 3 preview, details of which were shared online by StarWars.com. Check it out below.

Whilst I would not say TBB has been my favorite animated Star Wars show, I am glad its ending its run relatively quickly. It should mean that Season 3 moves at a faster pace and gets into the story a little quicker. That was always my issues with Season 1 and 2. As for Season 3, we know how Season 2 ended on a huge cliffhanger. Therefore, as you’d expect, Season 3 will pick up where we left off, with a very familiar face, and voice.

Description Of The Bad Batch Season 3 Teaser

It began with the Emperor (once again voiced by Palpatine actor Ian McDiarmid) visiting Dr. Royce Hemlock, leader of the Empire’s cloning efforts, on Mount Tantiss. “It is imperative that this facility remain secure,” Palpatine says. “Your brilliance is a great asset to this Empire.” All members of the Bad Batch appear, with Hunter addressing Omega’s capture at the hands of the Empire. “Omega’s been waiting for us. I’m not making her wait another day.” We see Omega and a sullen Crosshair, both still in Imperial custody. “I’m not giving up, Crosshair,” Omega tells him. “I won’t leave you, either. You’re my brother.” Throughout, there are glimpses of several worlds and characters, including Republic commandos, clones, Rex, plenty of giant creatures (“Why is there always a huge monster!” Wrecker asks, before dropping a thermal detonator in one’s mouth.), and Ming-Na Wen’s fan-favorite bounty hunter, Fennec Shand.

I do like my Star Wars shows to get dark. Therefore, I’m honestly not expecting a happy end for Clone Force 99. I’m sure they won’t kill off Omega. However, I could see her being the only one left by the end of the final season. Then again, maybe that’s just how I’d write it. That’s likely far too dark for what is a show still aimed more at a younger audience. Instead maybe they’ll rescue Omega in Episode 1? Then, we’ll get 6 episodes where Omega wanders off and does something stupid again? Frankly the show is just far superior when it focuses on the plight of Clones in the post-Clone War Galaxy. That’s the story for me, and Omega is kinda irrelevant to that, so far anyway.

Still, so far, if you skip the Omega in danger episodes and never skip a Crosshair episode you might find there’s a good story being told in this show. At least when the writers aren’t trying to fill out the episode counts with fluff.

What do you think as The Bad Batch Season 3 is coming in 2024, but it will be the final season of the show? What do you think of the teaser description? As always, leave any thoughts below.
